"What do I do when the 'n-word' comes up in a text?"
"How do I respond when a White student says she wishes she were Black so she could get into college more easily?"
"What do White children need to learn about race?"
"How do I recover after committing a microaggression?"
Led by Center Director Dr. Ali Michael, this daylong summit is comprised of workshops intended to engage these and other questions arising from talking about race in K-12 classrooms. Primarily, teachers will leave with greater support and better knowledge for mediating and facilitating race conversations with their students.
